Margaret Spellings Hires Company to Provide Cover for Coming Onslaught at UNC

An anonymous billionaire has paid the bill for Margaret Spellings to hire the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to conduct "a study" and make recommendations for business-friendly changes at UNC.

BCG has been described as an international consulting firm with "its own distinct and one-dimensional ideological framework, promoting a particular set of public policy choices."  BCG, in fact, is the brain trust that may be credited with the charter school system that sprang up in NOLA following Katrina.  From the News & Observer:
The study was Spellings’ idea. The first step, she said, is to get input “from our various customers and users,” including campuses, legislators, the business community, boards of trustees and others.

    Margaret Spellings has a history with the Broad Foundation going back to 2005 when she was Secretary of Education under George W. Bush.
