Barr Resigns as Chairman of Green Dot, Going National

Green Dot founder Steve Barr has resigned as chairman of the charter chain. Alexander Russo claims Barr will go national by starting Green Dot America this coming January, an idea mentioned in the infamous New Yorker article. Interestingly, Russo also reports on the $50,866 Barr owes Green Dot, allegedly for "wining and dining teachers and funders," and Barr also claims the audit is not connected to his departure. Barr's announcement isn't really a departure - he'll retain a position on the executive board and become chairman emeritus.

The Dailiy Breeze claims a Green Dot announcement said Barr will focus on "broad education policy issues."

Would it be fair to say "Broad education policy issues," too?
