Academic Bill of Rot

Thanks to the ne0con-controlled House Committee on Education and the Workforce, there is now winding its way through the House of Reprentatives an attachment to the Higher Ed Reauthorization Act that threatens academic freedom in every American university. Put together by former Communist, current neo-con, and permanent pain in the ass, David Horowitz, the "academic bill of rights" hopes to establish a level of political correctness in the university classrooms that is unprecedented.

If such a proposal had been floated by liberals to mandate intellectual quotas in the classroom for, let's say, multicultural texts, these conservative wingnuts now in charge would be ready to shoot down the idea as a politically-correct assault on academic freedom. That is exactly what it would be, and that is exactly what their bill of goods, er, rights, is; but such irony is invisible to those blinded by their own ideology.

Call your Congressman today and ask her stand on the Academic Bill of Rights. Then let him know what you think.
