Ravitch Finds Solace in Bernie's Education Policy Ignorance

Diane Ravitch uses some of her best reverse logic to try to justify the NPE/AFT/NEA/Fairtest embrace of the federal capitulation on ESEA to states rights proponents and paternalistic corporate welfare kings.

Yes, Bernie signed on to the Alexander/Murphy public education giveaway.  Where do you think a good liberal like Bernie would get his advice on education issues?  I would guess that he would would probably sniff the political winds and go with what the corporate union presidents have signaled.  Obviously, Bernie and Diane have much more in common than I thought.

If Ravitch were the teacher advocate and public school advocate that she pretends to be, she would be Washington telling the jackasses in Congress what she most definitely knows: public education will be further devastated by this bullshit ESEA bill if it passes, schools will be more corporate and more segregated and more tested, and teachers will have even less academic freedom and job security.  Who would have ever guessed that pretending to be a progressive could lead to such conservative results.

In the end, when the media pull the Sanders plug, all of the Bernie Cult will be the second line with all the other "progessives" attending the New Orleans style funeral of public education.  Want to guess who will be leading the parade?
