Massachusetts Educators, Please Speak Up for Evaluations Based on Learning, Not Testing

The message below is cut from the Teach Plus website, an outfit brought to light today in a must-read Sam Dillon front page piece in the New York Times (no restricted access version here with added bonus of Ohanian remarks).  TeachPlus is funded by Bill Gates to thoroughly undermine the teaching profession and the teacher-student relationship, while trying to appear to do just the opposite.

Please do sign up to speak (reserve a seat by pre-registering) if you are a Massachusetts K12 educator.  Find background information here, along with my testimony and others who spoke out last month when the plan was announced by the State Board.  Also see what model teaching standards should include here--thank you, Mr. Lucido.

This toxic fertilizer-inspired propaganda is from the Gates-sponsored astroturf group, Teach Plus:
The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is soliciting public comment on the proposed amendments to 603 CMR 35.00, Regulations on Evaluation of Educators. The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is soliciting public comment on the proposed amendments to 603 CMR 35.00, Regulations on Evaluation of Educators. Commissioner Mitchell Chester is hosting a series of regional forums for teachers and administrators over the next month to provide an overview of the proposed new statewide framework, answer questions, and receive feedback on the proposed amendments. In addition, they would appreciate information on the training and supports that would be most useful to practitioners in implementing them [note that this outfit sees implementation as a foregone conclusion!].
